Coinbase is looking to support third-party DeFi apps on its platform, Chief Financial Officer Alesia Haas revealed Monday at a Fintech focused event at Citi.
Alesia Haas divides the company's strategic plan into three "pillars." The third, she said, revolves around Coinbase's platform, where users can access a range of apps and use them. "We plan to eventually serve third-party applications within our main product, so we will not know whether customers will choose Coinbase products or third-party DeFi products. We want to introduce and find the best products for our customers."
Alesia Haas talked about the main relationship between Coinbase and DeFi. While Coinbase is a centrally operated company, DeFi's composition is defined as an ecosystem run by smaller development teams or governance stakeholders holding tokens. Coinbase aims to be a "bridge to DeFi."
