This week's macro highlights review: Democrats sweep both the Senate and House, AI industry chain hit by epic sell-off, strong non-farm payrolls revive rate hike expectations.

BlockBeats news, November 7 - Changes in the US political landscape are reshaping expectations for AI data center regulation, compounded by doubts over returns on AI capital expenditures, triggering a revaluation of tech stocks; meanwhile, strong nonfarm payrolls and energy price risks are pushing inflation and rate hike expectations higher again. This week's macro highlights are as follows:

1. Democrats sweep Congress in US midterm elections, Trump enters political lame-duck period: Democrats won control of both the Senate and House, dealing a major defeat to Republicans. The Iran war, inflation, and cost of living became key election issues. Trump acknowledged that the Iran war affected the election outcome but insisted that launching military action was necessary. Democrats plan to strengthen investigations and oversight of the Trump administration and revisit tariff, healthcare, and war policies.

2. US October nonfarm payrolls add 165,000, December rate hike expectations rise to about 80%: US October nonfarm payrolls increased by 165,000, far exceeding market expectations of 65,000; the unemployment rate fell to 4.1%, and the previous two months' employment data were revised up by a combined 84,000. The strong jobs data prompted markets to reprice Fed policy, with December rate hike expectations rising significantly.

3. New progress in US-Iran negotiations, Iran proposes seven conditions for ceasefire: Iran submitted a nuclear proposal to the US through Qatar and demanded that the US first meet seven conditions including lifting the port blockade, easing sanctions, and releasing frozen assets before being willing to discuss further. Trump said the US and Iran are expected to reach an agreement, but US military operations against Iran are still ongoing, and security risks in the Strait of Hormuz have not been resolved.

4. Global AI stocks suffer epic sell-off, tech giants lose trillions of dollars in market value in a single day: Tightening data center regulation and uncertainty over returns on AI capital expenditures triggered market panic. On Thursday, the Nasdaq plunged 5.52%, the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index tumbled 12.2%, AMD fell over 17%, and Nvidia dropped more than 9%. The combined wealth of Musk, Huang Renxun, and Larry Ellison shrank by about $105 billion in a single day. On Friday, Trump publicly expressed 100% support for superintelligence (SI), and AI-related stocks rebounded somewhat.

5. Meta, Alphabet, Apple, and Oracle launch tech giant bond issuance wave: Meta issued approximately $25.1 billion in bonds over two days, Alphabet issued €6 billion in bonds, Apple plans to raise about $7 billion, and Oracle plans to raise $20 billion through equity and debt financing. AI infrastructure investment continues to drive funding demand, and the market is also beginning to focus on tech giants' financing costs and investment return pressures.

6. Russia-Ukraine trilateral peace talks plan to restart, Europe fears being excluded from negotiations: The US plans to host US-Russia-Ukraine trilateral talks in Abu Dhabi, UAE on November 10-11, and Russia has confirmed participation. Ending the war, a ceasefire on energy facilities, and post-war security guarantees are potential topics, but the Russia-Ukraine military conflict is still ongoing.

AI investment, US monetary policy, and the Middle East situation will become the three core themes of the future market.
