BlockBeats news, November 3 - Jay Hatfield, CEO and portfolio manager of Infrastructure Capital Advisors, stated that the Federal Reserve should halt its "irrational interest rate hike policy," and monetary policy should focus on core inflation rather than inflation driven by oil prices.
Hatfield remarked that the Fed should recognize that its policies primarily affect interest rate-sensitive sectors of the economy, which are predominantly in the housing market. He urged the Fed to undertake fundamental reforms to its forecasting models, the arbitrary 2% inflation target, and its use of "seriously flawed inflation indicators."
Additionally, he mentioned that Infrastructure Capital Advisors is closely monitoring the research outcomes of the Fed's related working groups, anticipating that these outcomes will address some of the aforementioned fundamental flaws.
