Starknet launches shadow accounts, allowing users to anonymously link main wallets with DeFi activities.

BlockBeats news, October 14: According to official sources, Starknet has announced the launch of shadow accounts, allowing users to participate in public DeFi activities through an independent address under their control, while keeping the link between that address and their main wallet confidential. Shadow accounts are independent pseudonymous addresses on Starknet, funded from users' protected STRK20 balances. The first integration will go live tomorrow.

The balances, transaction records, and positions across applications of shadow accounts will still be publicly visible on-chain, but STRK20 can protect the link between shadow accounts and users' main wallets. This means users can reduce the likelihood of external observers tracing related activities back to their main wallets without having to hide their DeFi activities themselves.
