Bank of America: SK Hynix's 2028 New Capacity Expansion Could Be Only One-Sixth of Planned

BlockBeats News, July 15th, Bank of America released a report on July 14th local time stating that due to technological upgrades leading to the closure of old fabs, South Korea's annual wafer capacity growth rate will actually be below 10%, far from the official target of doubling by 2030.

SK Hynix's additional memory capacity by 2028 may only be one-sixth of the original plan. Furthermore, the construction and equipment installation period for Samsung and SK Hynix's new large-scale wafer fabs in Gwangju and Jeollanam-do may be extended to ten years.
