Original Title: "The Story of the Post-Bitcoin ETF Era: A Hotly Discussed and Emotionally Charged Topic Across the Internet"
Original Author: Azuma, Odaily Star Daily

The cryptocurrency industry has taken a historic step forward.

Early this morning, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) officially approved the applications for 11 Bitcoin spot ETFs. This "potential positive news" that has been affecting the industry's emotions for years has finally become a reality.

From an industry perspective, the approval of ETF can be seen as a significant affirmation of traditional regulatory authorities towards cryptocurrencies, and also demonstrates that the status of Bitcoin and other digital currencies in mainstream financial markets is increasingly strengthening.

At this milestone moment, how do the "big shots" from all walks of life view the approval of ETFs? And how do they predict the market trend in the post-ETF era? Odaily Star Daily has compiled the opinions of more than ten big shots from different industries on this event, details as follows.

Regulatory Voice

· Gary Gensler: Approval of ETF does not indicate SEC's view on BTC

Personal profile: SEC Chairman, although long regarded as the "industry enemy", cast the most critical supporting vote in this ETF resolution.

In today's statement regarding ETFs, Gensler mentioned that the SEC has approved a batch of Bitcoin spot ETFs. The SEC evaluates applications based on whether the information complies with the Exchange Act and its accompanying regulations. The committee remains neutral during the evaluation process and does not express opinions on specific companies, investments, or assets that serve as the basis for exchange-traded products (ETPs).

Gensler further stated that the SEC's decision allows ETPs to hold non-security commodity bitcoins, but this does not mean that the SEC is willing to approve the listing of any crypto assets suspected of being securities, nor does approval indicate the SEC's stance on the legal status of other crypto assets under federal securities laws or the status of certain crypto asset market participants violating federal securities laws.

· Hester Peirce: Ten Years of Waiting Finally Realized

Personal profile: One of the five commissioners of the SEC, a regulatory official who is most friendly to cryptocurrencies. One of the two "iron ticket warehouses" for this ETF resolution (the other being Mark Uyeda).

In today's statement regarding ETFs, Peirce stated that after more than a decade since the first Bitcoin spot ETP application was submitted, the SEC has finally approved the listing applications of multiple Bitcoin spot ETPs.

Peirce pointed out that the approval process for Bitcoin-related ETPs is significantly different from other ETPs that have been approved in the past decade, which has led to long-term rejections of such applications. The SEC has previously rejected applications citing the immaturity of the Bitcoin market and the existence of manipulation issues, but now the SEC states in the approval order that Bitcoin has demonstrated its ability to prevent fraud and manipulation due to the high correlation between the futures market and the spot market over the past two and a half years.

· Caroline Crenshaw: Approving ETFs is not wise and goes against the historical trend.

Personal profile: One of the five commissioners of SEC, one of the two commissioners who voted against the ETF resolution this time (the other one is Jaime Lizárraga).

After the approval of ETF today, Crenshaw also issued a statement explaining the reasons for opposition. Crenshaw said: "The SEC's approval of multiple Bitcoin spot ETPs is unwise and goes against the historical trend. Worse still, this will lead us down the wrong path and may cause harm to investors... I cannot agree that this action complies with regulations or the basic mission of investor protection, so I object to today's decision."

· Patrick McHenry  French Hill: Welcoming a historic moment, the market will have more opportunities to access this emerging technology.

Personal Profile: Patrick McHenry is the Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, and French Hill is the Chairman of the Digital Assets, Financial Technology, and Inclusive Subcommittee. Both are important regulatory officials with a friendly attitude towards cryptocurrency.

Regarding the approval of ETF, McHenry and Hill released a statement today stating: "The approval of the Bitcoin spot ETF today marks a historic milestone for the future of the US digital asset ecosystem. While legislation to provide clarity and certainty for digital assets is still necessary, today's action is a significant improvement in SEC enforcement and regulation. We are pleased that investors and the market will ultimately have more opportunities to access this innovative technology. We remain committed to strengthening consumer protection in the digital asset market through comprehensive market structure and stablecoin payment legislation."

Traditional finance, technology, and venture capital industry voices

· Elon Musk: Open to adopting BTC for X

Personal profile: It seems unnecessary to introduce myself...

After the approval of ETF, Elon Musk participated in the Twitter Space live broadcast hosted by Cathie Wood, the CEO of Ark, also known as "Wood Sister".

When answering a question from Wooden Sister about "whether to consider incorporating Bitcoin into X's infrastructure", Musk responded by saying: "We are open to this, but in reality, X rarely considers Bitcoin."

· Cathie Wood: There will be no "good news exhausted and then falling" situation

Personal profile: Mu Tou Jie, the female version of Buffett...the helm of Ark, a well-known fund and one of the ETF applicants this time.

Recently, Mu Tou Jie has been speaking out frequently about ETFs. When talking about future prices, Mu Tou Jie said that ETFs may not necessarily "rise and then fall" as some people predict after they are approved.

She further explained that "based on our five years of investment experience, we believe that the funds flowing into this new asset class, especially institutional funds, will be quite substantial. Institutions do not need to allocate too much to Bitcoin to push up the price of this asset, which is becoming scarce."

· Jan van Eck: Thank you everyone
