On December 8, Ubisoft announced that it will launch Ubisoft Quartz, a game platform supporting NFT, based on the Tezos blockchain. Allowing players to earn and buy in-game items labeled NFT on Tezos, Quartz was the first to support the PC version of Tom Clancy's tactical shooter online game Ghost Recon Breakpoint.

"Ubisoft Quartz is the first building block of our ambition to develop a true meta-universe," Nicolas Pouard, vp of Ubisoft's Strategic Innovation Lab, said in a press release. "Ubisoft started exploring cryptography and NFT a few years ago, developing a Prototype of a Minecraft like game called HashCraft. Since then, Ubisoft has partnered with a number of crypto startups through its Entrepreneur Lab Accelerator program and has supported programs like Axie Infinity, Nine Chronicles, and NBA Top Shot, and in April, it also became a corporate validator on Tezos' network.
