Coinbase apologizes: due to the surge of new users and regulatory requirements, some users are affected, and the communication method will be improved

Coinbase said it could not compromise on its regulatory obligations.

Rhythm BlockBeats news, on January 13, Coinbase issued an apology to customers in the United Kingdom and the European Union. Some users reported that it was difficult to access their accounts and perform certain transactions. However, this situation was not resolved in the first place. Coinbase said that it was mainly caused by two factors: the increase of new users and regulatory reasons that require users to be reviewed before some functions can be opened.

Coinbase said it could not compromise on its regulatory obligations. However, going forward Coinbase will improve communication of requests to customers by:

· Pending customer information requests are prioritized within Coinbase.

· Improve customer flow on mobile, including having customers see and provide any missing information through the app itself.

· Customers may start receiving push notifications and emails asking them to provide additional information in order to unblock their accounts. (

· Re-enabled a feature that allows UK customers to directly convert cryptocurrencies to fiat currency (GBP/EUR) and transfer it to their Paypal account.

· A new solution will be rolled out soon to reduce the time it takes customers to recover their account after it has been locked.
