Rhythm BlockBeats news, on December 4, the encryption analysis company CipherTrace released a report yesterday saying that it has identified a malicious website pretending to be MetaMask. The page design of the fake website is almost exactly the same as the real MetaMask website, which has also led to many users being deceived and causing asset losses.
CipherTrace reported yesterday that it has seen a growing number of users claim their funds have been stolen by a kind of masquerading as MetaMask hacked and stolen Ethereum wallets. As a browser plugin for Ethereum wallets, MetaMask provides users with the unique Ethereum addresses necessary to buy and sell ETH or Ethereum-based tokens. But because MetaMask's wallet is online, it also means it's vulnerable to phishing attacks.
According to the data provided by CipherTrace, the fake MetaMask will lead users to a temporary Created website. Rhythm reminds users that they must install or download wallet products through official channels, and do not use websites or products from unknown sources at will to prevent asset loss.
