White House devises response plan for Democrats winning control of Congress, aims to bypass Congress to advance agenda

BlockBeats news, November 1 - According to Reuters, a White House official and two informed sources revealed that the White House has been preparing for months for the possibility of Democrats taking over Congress, developing plans to continue advancing key parts of its agenda through executive power while also preparing for congressional investigations into the Trump administration.

Three informed sources stated that since April, senior officials including White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller and Budget Director Russell Vought have been working with the White House Counsel's Office to identify executive measures Trump can take without congressional approval, covering areas such as immigration, tariffs, housing costs, and federal spending. The White House official said that White House Counsel Will Scharf and his team are also examining "what actions Trump can legally take on his own, where he can push the boundaries of his authority, and how to defend those decisions in court."

Over the past month, Trump has been holding rallies across the country in an attempt to maintain Republican control of Congress. Meanwhile, his aides are reportedly already privately preparing for a potentially very different political landscape in 2027.
