Beating AI News Flash: AI coding company Cognition has announced the acquisition of security startup Corridor, with the transaction amount undisclosed. Corridor had just raised $25 million in March of this year at a $200 million valuation, specializing in addressing security issues arising from AI-generated code.
Unlike traditional post-hoc vulnerability scanning, Corridor can directly integrate with coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and Codex to check for security risks as AI generates code, and can also block the merging of code with critical vulnerabilities. Its clients include LangChain, Lovable, and ElevenLabs.
This acquisition was well telegraphed. On September 29, Cognition hired Corridor's former head of security and former Facebook Chief Security Officer Alex Stamos to lead its security business. On October 26, it upgraded Devin Security, integrating frontier security models such as Claude Mythos, enabling it not only to scan complex vulnerabilities but also to assess actual harm, allowing Devin to automatically reproduce, fix, and test them.
Corridor excels at intercepting risks at the moment code is written, while Devin Security already possesses deep scanning and batch remediation capabilities. After the acquisition, Cognition plans to combine the two sets of capabilities so that AI is not only responsible for writing code but also participates in security gatekeeping from development to deployment.
