US warns Gulf states of possible brief but fierce war against Iran after midterm elections

BlockBeats news, October 28, according to The Wall Street Journal, people familiar with the matter said the United States has asked several Gulf Arab states to prepare for a possible short and fierce military operation after the U.S. midterm elections. These messages, conveyed through diplomatic and military channels, are among the growing signs that the United States and Israel are preparing a new round of fierce strikes on Iran. This could trigger a major escalation, which the U.S. and Israel hope to use to weaken Tehran's strength and force it to the negotiating table. Officials aware of the developments said the U.S. military is deploying a "Patriot" air defense system from Texas to strengthen missile defense and has moved troops from vulnerable bases to prepare for escalation.

Some officials said U.S. forces in the region have been replenishing ammunition, and bombers and fighter jets are preparing for strike operations. Next month, another aircraft carrier strike group and a Marine expeditionary unit will also join the fleet of about 20 other warships currently operating in the Middle East, although some ships may rotate out. According to people familiar with the matter, President Trump has not yet decided whether to proceed with the plan, but he favors launching a large-scale attack after the election, with targets possibly including Iran's infrastructure and nuclear facilities.

According to Bitget data, U.S. and Brent crude oil rose $0.8 in the short term, currently at $100.28 per barrel and $110.37 per barrel, respectively.
