Beating AI News Flash: Nanjing embodied intelligence company Wujing Dynamics, just 8 months after its establishment, has been exposed as being embroiled in wage arrears and work stoppage turmoil.
In June of this year, Nanjing official media was still promoting this star enterprise: just 4 months after its establishment, it had signed framework orders worth nearly $500 million with multiple central state-owned enterprises, with another nearly $500 million in reserved local market orders, and $110 million in financing secured. The company mainly develops industrial-grade quadruped robots for scenarios such as power inspection and energy mining. In July, the Jiangning District government also showcased its robot capable of identifying instrument anomalies and operating switches, with delivery expected in October.
But just one month later, the company began withholding wages. Employees reported to National Business Daily that wages stopped being paid starting in August, housing provident fund contributions stopped in September, and social security contributions stopped in October, involving 30 to 40 people, with total wage arrears approaching $8 million. The company has now halted work, and even the head of the R&D department has joined labor arbitration.
On October 22, reporters contacted CEO Yuan Haihui, who said he could not reach the actual controller Cui Xiaofei and it was inconvenient to respond.
