AI Epic Series Premieres on Prime Time TV: 30-Episode "The Sequel to Journey to the West" Airs Tonight

Maoyan TV's AIGC drama "Journey to the West: The Aftermath" made its debut tonight on Hunan TV in the prime time slot. The first season is planned to have 30 episodes, each lasting 40 minutes, with the initial release of the "Flower-Fruit Mountain Arc" consisting of 5 episodes. It premiered on Maoyan TV at 18:00 and on Hunan TV at 20:00. This is the first AI-generated drama in China to air during prime time on a TV network.

This drama does not involve human actors; the visuals and character performances are all completed by AIGC. The entire drama received AI technical support from Seedance 2.0 and Seedance 2.5. The director, art design team, and AI production team worked together to complete the production of this drama.

It is also the first "review-while-broadcast" series nationwide following the release of the "Radio and Television Administration's 21 Rules." The production, review, and broadcast are carried out simultaneously, and the subsequent plot can be adjusted based on review feedback and audience response.
