BlockBeats News, August 28th, NVIDIA's stock price rose by 8.7% on Thursday, marking the largest single-day gain since April 2025 and boosting the company's market value by approximately $442 billion, making it the second largest single-day market cap increase in global equities history. Currently, NVIDIA's total market value is about $5.5 trillion, remaining the world's most valuable public company.
This market cap increase trails only the record set by Microsoft of adding $450 billion in a single day less than a month ago, and surpasses the total market value of the vast majority of constituents in the S&P 500 index. NVIDIA had previously added $440 billion in a single day in April 2025 and had once lost nearly $600 billion in market value in a day due to market concerns over its DeepSeek model.
The stock price surge was primarily driven by the company's performance guidance. NVIDIA expects its revenue to grow by around 70% in the next fiscal year, significantly higher than the market's expectation of about 45%. JPMorgan Chase believes that this guidance may still be conservative as NVIDIA has clearly stated that its forecast is subject to supply constraints, with potential demand growth unrestricted by supply seen as even higher.
