OpenAI's CFO has leaked three sets of growth data internally: overall up 35%, enterprise up 50%, weekly active users at 20 million.

Insightful Beating AI News Flash: OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar presented the latest data at an all-hands meeting: Quarter-to-date, the company's overall annualized revenue run rate has grown by 35%, with enterprise business up 50%; active users of AI programming and office products have reached 20 million.

This set of data shows a significant acceleration from the second quarter. OpenAI's actual revenue in Q2 was $6.7 billion, with a mere 18% increase from the previous quarter, while during the same period, Anthropic reached $11.6 billion, surpassing OpenAI for the first time. OpenAI now aims to prove that the third quarter has reaccelerated, with the enterprise business showing particularly rapid growth.

Friar also mentioned that OpenAI plans to go public in 2027, potentially even earlier if the business continues to accelerate. The company has secretly submitted its IPO paperwork but does not intend to rush ahead of Anthropic to go public.
