BlockBeats News, August 18th. The Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong, China, stated that it welcomes the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission's announcement today to actively support mainland insurance funds' participation in the mainland-Hong Kong financial market mutual access. It supports mainland insurance institutions in investing in Hong Kong Stock Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) through the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect and Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect. This policy will further enrich the options for mainland insurance institutions to allocate overseas assets through Hong Kong, demonstrating the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission's support for the continuous deepening of the mainland-Hong Kong financial link.
The Chairman of the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong, Dr. Kelvin Wong, stated: "We sincerely thank the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission for its steadfast support for the development of the Hong Kong capital market and the financial link between the mainland and Hong Kong. This new policy has expanded the overseas asset allocation channels for mainland insurance funds, demonstrating the country's determination to deepen high-level financial opening and the central government's support for the continued deepening of financial cooperation between the two regions. We firmly believe that these arrangements will further promote the coordinated development of the two capital markets."
