Anthropic is considering raising an additional $36 billion in debt financing to support its use of Google's chip.

BlockBeats News, August 4th, according to Bloomberg, Blackstone Group has held preliminary discussions with investors to assess their interest in a second large debt financing deal aimed at providing funding for Anthropic PBC to use Google's chip under Alphabet.

According to sources familiar with the matter, a preliminary proposal involves at least $36 billion in debt, which would surpass the $35 billion debt deal finalized by Apollo Global Management Inc. and Blackstone Group about two months ago.

This potential new round of financing comes shortly after Anthropic's confidential submission of a US initial public offering (IPO) application, as the company seeks to go public ahead of competitor OpenAI.
