Serenity: AAOI Bullish Thesis Highlights Optical Module Supply-Demand Imbalance and AI Compute Bottleneck, Long-Term Growth Outlook Extended Through 2028

BlockBeats News, June 17th, Serenity responded to the bearish sentiment on the optoelectronics company AAOI on social media, stating that it still maintains a high confidence long position and believes that the market's pessimistic expectations for the stock are skewed.

The core logic revolves around the structural supply-demand gap in the AI infrastructure chain: he points out that the industry is currently facing constraints in high-end laser and optoelectronic module capacity, while AMD and major cloud providers continue to see rising demand for high-speed optical interconnects. At the same time, the overall AI computational power ecosystem is still constrained by the supply bottleneck dominated by NVDA.

This view believes that the U.S. has a key capacity advantage in the 800G/1.6T optoelectronic module and related transceiver supply chain, but the overall supply-demand balance remains significantly tight, with some high-end packaging and assembly processes relying on outsourcing in Asia.

In terms of performance expectations, the investor mentioned that the company may reach around a $560 million annualized revenue run rate by 2027 (ARR level estimation) and believes that the current market value has not fully reflected the long-term growth potential. Additionally, some key volume cycles may extend into 2028.

At the same time, this view highlights short-term volatility risks, including potential ATM equity financing and sentiment swings driven by industry news. It also believes that analyses and market rumors of peers such as LITE may have a contagion effect on the entire optical communication sector.

Overall, the bullish narrative still bets on the "optical interconnect bottleneck" in the AI computational power expansion cycle and believes that the current market underestimates the medium- to long-term growth trajectory.
