BlockBeats News, June 13th, Zcash founder Zooko Wilcox posted a message thanking Anthropic for helping protect Zcash users. At the request of Shielded Labs, they conducted a security audit on Zcash using Mythos and did not find any additional critical vulnerabilities in the Zcash protocol. Shielded Labs and other teams are still working on further security enhancements, and updates will be released in the future.
Earlier, on June 5th, Zcash founder Zooko Wilcox disclosed in a post that there was a significant counterfeiting vulnerability in the Zcash Orchard pool, which could be used to create unlimited and undetectable counterfeit ZEC within the Orchard pool. This vulnerability was discovered by security researcher Taylor Hornby on May 29th through a targeted audit using Anthropic Opus 4.8 model and was disclosed to the Zcash Open Development Lab (ZODL). ZODL then coordinated an emergency response within the Zcash ecosystem, and the relevant fix was completed on June 2nd.
