「Stock God」 Serenity Points Out Three European Silicon Photonics Leaders, Chip Act 2.0 Long-Term Bullish for Photonics Track

BlockBeats News, June 3rd. The "Stock God" Serenity posted an article interpreting the EU Chip Act 2.0 proposal, believing that it constitutes a thematic positive for the EU photonics industry. The new proposal will confirm photonics as a structural addition to EU policy, with related terms including "support for the development of photonic integrated circuits and related technologies," "establishment and enhancement of advanced design, prototyping, and industrial deployment capabilities for photonic integrated circuits," and "expansion of the EU's design capabilities in the field of photonics," marking the formal inclusion of photonics in the EU's semiconductor strategic framework.

The more specific policy focus is on several key application areas: co-packaged optical and interconnect technologies for AI data centers (a positive for SIVE), the use of silicon photonics in high-bandwidth data center interconnects, and manufacturing technologies such as co-packaging and heterogeneous integration of photonic integrated circuits (a direct benefit to XFAB).

Serenity also pointed out that Soitec and Siltronic, as core European companies in the SOI wafer field, were directly mentioned in the policy impact analysis, while XFAB was listed as part of the current funding framework, further confirming its leadership position in the European silicon photonics value chain. It is predicted that as the policy framework takes shape, specific information on related targets will continue to be released over the next 3 to 15 months.
