Vienna: No Agreement Reached Yet, Iran Chooses Not to Accept US Conditions

BlockBeats News, April 12th. On the morning of April 12th local time, American Vice President Vance held a press conference at the Serena Hotel in the Pakistani capital Islamabad. Vance stated that the U.S.-Iran negotiations held in Islamabad, Pakistan did not reach an agreement, and the differences between the two sides remain significant. Vance said that after about 21 hours of negotiations between the U.S. and Iran, no agreement was reached. The two sides have had multiple rounds of "substantive discussions," but ultimately failed to achieve results. He pointed out that the U.S. has clearly stated its own "red lines" and acceptable and unacceptable conditions, while the Iranian side "chose not to accept these terms." He will return to the United States without reaching an agreement.

Vance stated that the core reason the U.S.-Iran negotiations did not reach an agreement is that Iran did not make a clear commitment to giving up the development of nuclear weapons. Vance pointed out that the U.S. has demanded that Iran not only refrain from developing nuclear weapons currently but also commit to not acquiring related capabilities and technologies in the long term, but "has not seen such a clear willingness" yet. He emphasized that this goal is a core demand of U.S. President Trump in the negotiations. Regarding the details of the negotiations, Vance said he would not publicly disclose specific content but reiterated that the nuclear issue is one of the key points of contention. (CCTV News)
