Etherscan Post Alert: Ethereum Fusaka Upgrade Leads to 612% Surge in Address Poisoning

BlockBeats News, March 13th, Etherscan posted on social media that Ethereum experienced approximately 17 million rug pull attempts from 2022 to 2024, affecting 1.3 million users. It has been confirmed that the losses total at least $79.3 million. After the Fusaka upgrade on December 3, 2025, transaction costs dropped significantly, and dust transfers saw an explosive 612% surge.

Etherscan has recommended the following measures for users:

· Always manually verify the complete destination address before making a transfer (most important)

· Add private name labels to frequently used addresses + use ENS domains

· Enable Etherscan Address Highlight feature

· Pay attention to popup reminders when copying addresses
