After CZ's One-Click Triple Gem, a 16-year-old teenager's on-chain CPU project gained popularity

Token Price Skyrockets Over 10x, Will the Market Foot the Bill for the TapeOut On-Chain Miners Narrative?
Original Title: "After CZ's Triple Action, On-chain CPU Project by 16-Year-Old Goes Viral"
Original Author: Golem, Odaily Planet Daily

Over the weekend, CZ's triple action (like, comment, follow) once again brought a protocol called TapeOut, developed by a 16-year-old, into the spotlight.

On August 15, a developer named Blonskr announced the launch of an on-chain CPU on the BNB Chain, naming it Behemoth and proclaiming, "This is one small step for me, but one giant leap for the BNB Chain." The announcement didn't create much of a stir in the community that day. It wasn't until the next day when CZ commented on and followed the developer that the gears of fate began to turn...

TapeOut: On-chain Hardware Manufacturer Infrastructure, Token Minting Returns Increased 18-Fold

The on-chain CPU Behemoth praised by CZ was designed by Blonskr using his introduced TapeOut Protocol. Blonskr positioned it as the infrastructure for an on-chain hardware manufacturer. Although it may sound very catchy, this protocol has not introduced any new asset types/protocol standards. Essentially, it still falls under the EVM mining game mode, with gameplay centered around "circuit design."

There are two asset types in the TapeOut protocol, one being the multi-token standard ERC-1155 and NFTs (ERC-721). Destroying ERC-1155 tokens can generate NFT mines. Currently, the protocol is still in its early stages, and NFT mines cannot yet produce new tokens. However, Blonskr mentioned that this gameplay is already in the design phase.

In the TapeOut worldview, "one token is like one transistor." To simulate real circuit design, transistors (tokens) are further divided into NAND gates and LATCH triggers. To assemble a circuit, users need to mint or purchase these two types of tokens. After arranging and dragging these two transistors on TapeOut's circuit canvas to form a circuit, clicking "fabricate and go on-chain" will mint the circuit NFT, which users can view in their holdings.

These NFTs are also divided into different collections. Minting NFTs from different collections also requires different Transistor Tokens. Users can also issue their own NFT collections, specifying the quantity of NFTs, the number of Transistor Tokens required for minting, and the price of minting Transistors. Currently, the most popular circuit NFT collections are Behemoth and TapeOut launched by Blonskr.

An official NFT trading market has not yet been launched, but a Transistor Token trading market has been introduced, using a DEX on-chain order book. The Transistors for Behemoth and TapeOut have all been minted, so if one wants to obtain Transistors for Behemoth and TapeOut, they can only be purchased on the secondary market.

As shown in the diagram below, in the official Transistor trading market, the price of Behemoth (Blonskr_No1) NAND Transistor has risen to 0.0085 BNB, a 17x increase compared to the minting price (0.0005 BNB), and the price of its LATCH Transistor has also increased by 13x. Synthetic circuit NFTs will burn Transistor Tokens, but the current market hype is still mainly focused on the Transistor Token prices, and there is currently no price speculation on the synthetic circuit NFTs.

According to official data, the 24-hour trading volume of TapeOut has reached 1300 BNB, approximately $800,000.

Overall, TapeOut is like a circuit design mini-game, with some fun but not very playable. For liberal arts students or players lacking knowledge of electronic circuits, there is still a learning curve. Assembling circuits is often difficult to know where to start and requires AI assistance for learning.

16-Year-Old Idealistic Teenager?

Therefore, the TapeOut project is not actually complex, it just adds some knowledge about CPUs and circuit design to provide a learning curve. The future development of TapeOut is foreseeable. It will most likely enter the on-chain mining machine narrative. As for on-chain mining machines, veteran players in the crypto world are very familiar with them. Although there are various variations and overlay gameplay, the essence is nothing more than buying NFT mining machines to mine tokens. Investors calculate the payback period, and the key to the project's operation is to control the token's deflation mechanism and market price.

According to KOL Wang Dayou, Blonskr is a 16-year-old developer who previously focused on developing small applications. Compared to most peers, Blonskr is already outstanding. He is like an idealistic teenager stepping into the crypto world, still having a strong curiosity about the on-chain world. Although TapeOut is not sophisticated, it is also a "creation" he has completed in his own way at this age.

For a 16-year-old teenager who has not yet been completely disillusioned by the world, gaining CZ's attention is already something to be proud of. After all, in the past, some have been dubbed "princes" due to CZ's attention. However, once TapeOut enters the financialization stage, it means that some will make money from it, while others will lose money.

At that time, whether Blonskr can withstand the full anger and accusations of the cryptocurrency loss sufferers, and whether he can continue to maintain his idealism in this journey that has accidentally veered into the mainstream, is worrying.
