The public chain Artela launched a testnet interactive activity on January 15th. By experiencing Artela's unique EVM+ application, users can participate in on-chain interactions to win prizes.

As a blockchain that focuses on extensibility, Artela is the first new public chain to use WASM to enhance EVM functionality, opening up a new application mode of full-chain programmability. Artela previously launched a public testnet on August 1st, and this article provides an overview of Artela's technological innovation and ecological development.

Technical Progress

Artela has released its highlight core feature, Aspect Programming, on the public testnet, which is a native extension of the execution layer "EVM+" and has also released many core use cases.

Artela is the first public chain that is compatible with EVM and enhances EVM through a multi-virtual machine environment. Unlike other public chains that replace EVM with execution environments such as MoveVM, Artela is fully compatible with mainstream EVM and continues to use its thriving dApp network ecology. On this basis, Artela adds WASM virtual machine as an extension execution layer to break through the application limitations caused by EVM execution capability.

Artela blockchain has two on-chain execution environments, EVM and WASM VM. Applications compatible with EVM can deploy smart contracts in a fully equivalent EVM execution environment, achieving seamless migration. If EVM cannot meet the application's functional requirements, the application can continue to develop blockchain-native extension modules (called Aspects) through WASM, achieving lower gas consumption, higher execution efficiency, and stronger protocol layer customization, thereby maximizing on-chain functionality. Through Aspects, applications can customize the entire transaction process, enhance application functionality, and make more on-chain innovations possible. For example, DeFi can add security risk control modules that require high-performance real-time computing through Aspects, and full-chain games can add heavy system tasks, which were impossible to achieve in a single EVM execution layer in the past.

EVM+Aspect Project Debut

This time, Artela also announced a series of Aspect use cases co-built with ecological projects:

·Collaborated with BladeDAO to release a full-chain game called JIT-Royale. Through experience, players can interact with Autonomous NPC Aspect, which controls a group of NPCs in real-time through algorithms while players move and fight in the game, achieving full-chain NPC.

·Collaborated with well-known DeFi projects to release a Session Key experience application that supports DeFi one-click trading. Through the Session Key Aspect, the functionality of EoA accounts has been expanded, allowing EoA to dynamically configure a temporary Session Key for interacting with specific applications. This achieves a smooth user experience when interacting with specific applications without the need for manual signature through the main wallet.

In addition, the current hot topic of inscriptions is also being introduced as an application use case, and more interactive rewards are expected to follow.

Ecological System Progress

As part of the testnet incentive program, Artela has announced multiple ecological incentive activities. On the same day as the launch of the testnet, they announced the opening of validator recruitment and the Validator Program plan, along with the application link. They also announced the upcoming Aspect Usecase BUIDLathon, which will incentivize global developers to use Aspect Programming to build innovative modular applications on the chain through an online hackathon. Additionally, they will incentivize users to participate in testnet application interaction tasks through Galxe, and participate in the JIT-Royale game and Artscription inscription project interaction to win prizes.
