Hackathon finalists will gather at Hong Kong Cyberport to compete for over $1 million in prizes and funding.

Hong Kong - October 19, 2023 - Community-driven open-source blockchain platform Neo today announced that it will hold a two-day "HK Web3 Evolution" event at Cyberport in Hong Kong from October 27th to 28th to celebrate the first anniversary of Hong Kong's Web3 new policy and witness the grand finale of the "Neo Asia-Pacific Hackathon". Since July of this year, the Neo Asia-Pacific Hackathon has attracted about 100 teams to participate and successfully held offline competitions in five cities in Asia, with a total prize pool of $120,000. The winners of the finals will have the opportunity to share a $1 million hackathon follow-up funding and acceleration services.

For this event, Neo has teamed up with important representatives from the industry such as Hong Kong Cyberport, Web3Labs, and InvestHK to design a forum for discussing and celebrating Hong Kong's advanced Web3 policies. The event will take place on October 27th and 28th at Cyberport, which is the hub for Web3 enterprises in Hong Kong.

With the strong support and cultivation of the Web3 industry and ecosystem in Hong Kong, the HK Web3 Evolution event will invite a series of guests including members of the Hong Kong Legislative Council and leading Web3 industry professionals (including OKX), to explore the future development direction of the Web3 industry in Hong Kong and Asia, as well as guide industry participants on how to further support its development through keynote speeches and roundtable discussions.

In addition, at this event, top developers from the Asia-Pacific region will also compete fiercely for the final prize of the Neo Asia-Pacific Hackathon and showcase their innovative projects.

Neo Asia-Pacific Hackathon

"Neo Asia-Pacific Hackathon" is a technology and resource exchange event that combines online and offline activities in multiple cities in the Asia-Pacific region. The event held five offline competitions in Tokyo, Ho Chi Minh City, Bangalore, Seoul, and Singapore, which are vibrant Web3 development center cities. At the same time, it collected participating projects online and will hold the finals in Hong Kong. At the finals in Hong Kong, Neo will announce the five teams that won the final prizes in the five tracks, award prizes, and announce their participation in the recently launched "Web3.0 Global Acceleration Program" with a prize pool of 1 million US dollars. The "Web3.0 Global Acceleration Program" was established in cooperation with Neo and Web3Labs, aiming to further promote Web3 innovation and development in Hong Kong.

As the Neo APAC hackathon competition enters its final stage, participating teams are advised to ensure that their projects are submitted to DoraHacks before 12:00 AM on the evening of October 20, 2023 in order to have a chance to be selected for the finals.
