Original Translation: 0x711, BlockBeats

Lasting for two months, the Metaverse online hackathon co-hosted by Metaverse Alliance and LD Capital, named "Metathon," concluded successfully on January 22, 2022. We received over 100 projects from nearly 280 developers from 13 different countries. After two rounds of preliminary and final evaluations, 22 outstanding developer teams stood out.

To ensure the professionalism and fairness of this online hackathon, we invited 36 industry-leading judges who are influential professionals in the field. They come from top funds such as Republic, Delphi Digital, Binance Labs, LD Capital, YGG, HashKey Capital, Huobi Ventures, OKEx Blockdream Ventures, KuCoin Labs, DHVC, SpringWind Venture, NGC, Kardiachain, MEXC Pioneer, etc.; top public chains such as Solana, Flow, Neo, Klaytn, etc.; and top projects in the Metaverse space such as Illuvium, Bigtime, Mask Network, Impossible Finance, Chain IDE, etc.

During the Metathon evaluation process, each professional judge scored a random selection of ten final projects based on six evaluation criteria. The evaluation criteria include project growth potential, functionality, innovation, feasibility, design quality, and technical completeness and complexity. Each project was scored by at least five judges, and the top three projects with the highest average score in each track were awarded.

About the Awards

1. Considering the passing score and the judges' diverse opinions, we decided to select one winner from the DAO track.

2. Four projects did not clearly define their track in the preliminary round, and we categorized them into the respective tracks based on the judges' feedback.

3. Regarding the Grants from Cradles, NEO, Klyayth, Multiverse, LD Capital, the Metaverse Alliance team will closely communicate with Sponsors to help them connect with teams deployed on their ecosystems. Sponsors have the right to choose projects for funding and reserve the right not to reward any projects.

Finally, we would like to thank the main sponsor of this event, Springwind Venture, for their generous support, sponsoring a $100,000 prize pool to be awarded to the winning projects. This initiative aims to provide early-stage project support and accelerate innovation in the Metaverse space.

We would also like to express our deep appreciation to our partners who believed in the potential of the Metaverse Alliance and helped promote and oversee the hackathon, creating wonders together. Once again, a big thank you to our judges for taking the time out of their busy schedules to evaluate the projects.
