RaaS (Rollup as a Service) has been hailed as the most promising track in Rollup. However, what kind of RaaS can ultimately win market favor? Is it the OP Stack that seizes the opportunity and has a preliminary scale, or the ZK Stack with rapid development momentum in recent times? It remains to be tested by the market.
As one of the builders of the ZK track, Opside has recently announced some good news.
On August 14th, the decentralized ZK-RaaS platform Opside officially announced a major update to its ZK-Rollup LaunchBase, which supports developers in building custom zkEVM application chains. The five core ZK-Rollup components, Layer1, zkEVM, Gas, DA (Data Availability), and Sequencer, are also available for custom selection. Additionally, this version of ZK-Rollup LaunchBase supports the addition of various Infra as a Service options for project parties to choose from during the initial stages.
This move marks a milestone achievement for Opside in the Rollup modularization and customization space, which aims to meet the needs of more developers and projects, and to build custom zkEVM application chains in a more flexible way, thus expanding and empowering the entire ZK ecosystem together with developers.
As the foundation of Layer2 network construction, the choice of Layer1 is crucial, after all, all users' transaction behavior will eventually return to Layer1. In the early design of Opside, how to meet the developers' demand for different EVM-compatible basic networks has also become a top priority. Currently, Opside's latest LaunchBase has added support for ETH/BSC/Polygon and other test network options. When creating L2, developers can choose ETH Goerli, Polygon Mumbai, BNB Testnet Opside, and Opside as the underlying network according to their project needs. It is expected that after a series of stress tests on the test network, support for mainnets such as ETH/BNB Chain/Polygon will be implemented in early September.

Obviously, modularization not only allows developers to flexibly choose different Layer1 solutions, but also provides diversity and flexibility for other components such as zkEVM and Gas Fee Token. For example, Opside now fully supports Polygon zkEVM and is further supporting other zkEVM implementations such as zkSync, Scroll, StartNet, Linea, Taiko, etc. In addition, there are more options for Gas Fee Token, as project teams or developers can choose to use custom tokens as the Gas Fee Token for ZK-Rollup, in addition to the Gas Fee Tokens of L1.

Before this, more than 12 top projects in the industry have generated exclusive zkEVM application chains through Opside LaunchBase, with the majority of these projects being applications in Defi, Socialfi, and Gamefi.

As an excellent content distribution platform in the industry, ReadOn generated its own ZK-Rollup, bridge, and browser within 10 minutes through Opside Rollup Launchbase, and used its own Native Token as the Gas Fee Token for ZK-Rollup.
Additionally, for projects like Era7, which was once one of the top three active game projects on the BNB Chain, they also generated a dedicated zkEVM application chain using Opside Rollup Launchbase. It is worth mentioning that in some special contracts, they also adopted Opside's 0 Gas fee feature, which allows users to call contracts without paying any fees, greatly reducing the entry barrier for traditional Web2 game players.
In addition, there are still more than 20 project parties actively communicating and promoting with the Opside team. The Opside team also hopes to see more project parties using ZK-Rollup technology to reduce operating costs and improve user experience while ensuring security.
Highlight 2: Provides multiple DA and Shared Sequencer components
DA and the Shared Sorter are equally important components of ZK-Rollup customization.
As far as DA is concerned, ZK-Rollup can upload the data state of each off-chain processed transaction to Layer1. With this data, individual developers/project parties can reproduce the state of these Rollups and verify the chain themselves. In this version, Opside can provide more DA components for developers to choose from. In the future, Opside ZK-RaaS LaunchBase will offer three options for DA: Base Layer (already supported), Opside DA (PoS), and many third-party DAs (such as Celestia, Eigenlayer, etc.). Project parties and developers can also make different choices according to their project needs.
The shared sorter is essentially a set of sorters compatible with Rollup, which can provide services for different Rollups. However, all Layer 2 Rollups currently used on Ethereum use centralized sorters. In Opside's vision, the options for sequencers that Opside ZK-RaaS can provide in the future include three types: centralized (already supported), Opside decentralized Sequencer (PoS), and third-party decentralized Sequencer (Espresso, Radius, etc.). This ensures that developers can enjoy flexibility and convenience while ensuring the security of the entire application chain.
Highlight 3: Supports multiple Infra as a Service, including Dex, Oracle, NFTmarket, DID, Wallet, etc.
In addition to adding various customized functions, the ZK-Rollup LaunchBase launched on Opside also supports adding multiple Infra as a Service options for project parties to choose from in the early stages. After the exclusive zkEVM application chain is generated, there will be a certain demand for infrastructure on the chain. For example, Defi applications will have a great demand for basic infrastructure such as oracles. Considering this, Opside has also cooperated with many well-known infrastructure providers and project parties in the industry, and provides various Infra as a Service options for developers to choose from in LaunchBase, including but not limited to Wallet as a Service, Dex as a Service, Oracle as a Service, NFT Market as a Service, DID as a Service, etc. The optional items include OKX Web3 Wallet, iZUMi, Star protocol, Space ID, Supraoracle, and more cooperation is still being negotiated and waiting to be connected.
Here, we also welcome more project parties interested in Opside ZK ecosystem and Infra as a Service to have deeper communication with the Opside team: Contact@opsi.de. Let's work together to build a more prosperous ZK ecosystem!
