On August 23rd, Opside announced that the three-month Pre-alpha incentive test network has successfully ended and Opside has entered the Alpha test network! Since its opening on May 24th, the Pre-alpha test network has received enthusiastic participation from community users, PoS nodes, PoW miners, project parties, and developers. Opside sincerely thanks all participants for their contributions! We are also pleased to share with the community the achievements of Opside Pre-alpha incentive test network, as well as the relevant instructions for the smooth transition from Pre-alpha test network to Alpha test network and the exchange rules for the points earned by various ecological roles during the test network period.

1. Market Performance

Opside Pre-alpha testnet period, the number of participating ordinary users reached 450,000, with a trading volume of 13,580,057 transactions. The number of PoS nodes reached 16,883, and the number of PoW miners reached 88. In terms of ecology, more than 100 high-quality project parties applied to participate in the testnet, and finally 14 were selected and generated exclusive zkEVM application chains through Opside LaunchBase, all of which are currently running stably.

Opside's Twitter user count has reached 83K, with a 3-month growth rate of 836%. The Opside Discord community has an active user count of 96K, with a 3-month growth rate of 1631%.

2. Technical Breakthroughs

2.1 ZK-Rollup LaunchBase

Opside's goal is to make ZK-Rollup more user-friendly and accessible, enabling zkEVM-based application chains to be widely adopted. To achieve this, Opside first proposed the ZK-RaaS (ZK-Rollup as a Service) in July 2022, which meets the needs of developers to deploy their own ZK-Rollup (zkEVM application chain) on multiple L1s.

In mid-August, Opside made a major update to ZKRollup Launchbase. The Rollup L1 main chain now supports ETH/BSC/Polygon testnets, and offers modular components such as DA/shared sequencers. Additionally, Rollup LaunchBase supports various Infra as a Service options for project teams to choose from, including Dex as a Service, Oracle as a Service, NFTmarket as a Service, and DID as a Service. The available options include iZUMi, Star Protocol, Space ID, Supraoracle, and more. You can find more information about the update at the following link: https://mirror.xyz/opsidezk.eth/ABvAO3TwXdQaqh5nbpe7ArdCpS5gNM5WxSR8h6085DQ.

2.2 Native Cross-rollup Communication

Opside has launched the NCRC protocol and implemented instant messaging across Rollups. This is not achieved by adding a third-party bridge to each Rollup, but by modifying the native bridge of ZK-Rollup at the system level. This approach is more concise and thorough, inheriting the absolute security of the native bridge while avoiding the system complexity and trust cost brought by third-party bridges. NCRC protocol.

2.3 Multi-Chain ZK-PoW Protocol and ZKP Two-Phase Commit Algorithm

Multi-chain ZK-PoW protocol allows miners to provide ZKP computing power for ZK-Rollups on multiple L1s such as Ethereum and BNB Chain.

Opside's latest proposed ZKP two-phase commit algorithm increases the efficiency of generating ZKPs by 50% compared to previous versions. In a multi-miner scenario, the calculation of ZKPs can be shortened to less than one minute, greatly accelerating the confirmation time of ZK-Rollup.

3. Community & Ecosystem Empowerment:

3.1 Exclusive zkEVM Application Chain

With the increasing demand for exclusive ZK-Rollup in various segmented tracks, Opside has proposed a solution to address the pain points of project parties while continuously expanding its own boundaries. As of now, 15 exclusive zkEVM applications have been deployed and actively participated by users on the Opside platform.

ReadON, as a well-known content distribution platform in the industry, generated its own ZK-Rollup, bridge, and browser within 10 minutes through Opside ZK-Rollup LaunchBase in the early days, and used its own Native Token as the Gas Fee Token for ZK-Rollup.

Era 7 was once one of the top three active game projects on the BNB Chain. They have also chosen Opside ZK-Rollup LaunchBase to create a dedicated zkEVM application chain. In some special contracts, they have also adopted Opside's 0 Gas fee feature, which allows users to call contracts without paying any fees, greatly reducing the entry barrier for traditional Web2 game players.

3.2 Ecological Cooperation

The scale development of ZKRollup is naturally inseparable from ecological construction. During the test network period, Opside actively listened to the voices of the project parties while cooperating with them. Up to now, Opside has established deep partnerships with nearly 50 outstanding projects in the industry, including OKX, Galxe, Space ID, SupraOracles, ReadON, GasZero, Port3, Relation and other well-known projects. In the future, we will work together with these partners to build a beautiful future for the ZK ecosystem!

3.3 Global Participation

The successful launch of the Opside Pre-alpha testnet would not have been possible without the support of over 450,000 users from more than 60 countries and regions around the world. Whether you are an ordinary user, PoS node, PoW miner, developer, or project team, every contribution is invaluable. Together, we have achieved Opside's vision and expanded its global reach. Opside would like to thank all community participants for their efforts and looks forward to seeing everyone active on the upcoming Alpha testnet.

4. Points Redemption & Alpha Testnet Instructions

In addition to reviewing the results of the Pre-alpha Testnet, we would like to provide the following information regarding the community's attention to the Alpha Testnet schedule and the automatic conversion rules for Pre-alpha Testnet points:

4.1 Pre-alpha Testnet Points Automatic Conversion Rules (for Validators & Miners)

Validators

The system will automatically convert the number of testnet IDEs produced by each Validator during the Pre-alpha testnet period through PoS into corresponding points, with a conversion ratio of 37 IDEs to 1 point.

For example: Alice runs a node smoothly, and she has produced 3,700 testnet IDEs during the Pre-alpha testnet period, so she will receive 100 points. The score will be automatically converted by the system and displayed on the latest official Leaderboard for validators to check.

Miners

Miners will automatically exchange proof submitted during the Pre-alpha testnet period for corresponding points based on the address, with an exchange rate of 1 Proof : 2 points.

For example: If Bob submits 1024 proofs during the Pre-alpha testnet period, he will receive 2048 points. The points will be automatically converted by the system and displayed on the latest official Leaderboard for miners to check.

(*Please note that the above conversion rules only apply to the Opside Pre-alpha test network stage.)

Currently, Opside's loyalty points will be the only credential for exchanging mainnet tokens in the future. The specific exchange ratio will be announced at a later date.

4.2 Alpha Testnet

As Opside officially announced to the community a few weeks ago, the Opside Pre-alpha testnet will smoothly transition to the Alpha testnet for Validators and Miners. Validators and Miners do not need to take any further action, and all block production and submitted proofs on the Opside Pre-alpha testnet will immediately count towards rewards on the Alpha testnet.

The Opside team is expected to launch a new round of Alpha testnet activities in early September, which will be open to global users without any threshold. The Alpha testnet activities will be presented in a brand new form and come with additional surprise rewards!

The Opside team will provide a brand new Leaderboard dashboard on their official website. At that time, all users including validators and miners can view the historical point acquisition and Alpha test network ranking of the current connection address, as well as additional rewards.

It is worth mentioning that Opside will soon collaborate with Space ID to release the .Opside domain name. Users who register and obtain the domain name will be able to display it on the Leaderboard. For more information about the .Opside domain name, please stay tuned for Opside's Twitter announcements.

At the end

The success of the Opside Pre-alpha testnet is inseparable from the contributions of every participant. Therefore, the Opside team would like to express their sincere gratitude to the global community users, developers, PoS validators, PoW miners, and all testnet participants, VCs, and partners for their unwavering attention and support! You are also an essential part of the Opside team!

Finally, although the Pre-alpha testnet has come to a temporary end, Opside's progress will not stop, and the narrative of the ZK track will continue to evolve. Opside will start small, gradually expand, overcome doubts, not forget its original intention, and provide more long-term value for the future development of the ZK-Rollup ecosystem!
