Wednesday, Alliance DAO's "Demo Day" event was held during the FTX crash, and we still saw a lot of new and good crypto startups.
"The situation today is actually worse than the bear market in 2018," said Qiao Wang, a core contributor to Alliance DAO, He was referring to Binance's plan to absorb rival FTX. "Today, everyone was caught off guard, including myself... Working closely with our founders at All9 over the past three months has given me hope again. It is people like them who will drive our industry moving forward".
All9, a community of Web3 accelerators and builders at Alliance DAO, showed off some of their cool ideas during their demo day on Wednesday.
Twice a year, Alliance DAO invites the founders of Web3 to participate in a three-month program. To date, Alliance DAO alumni have created over $10 billion in market cap. The event received approximately 953 applications, but only 17 teams were selected and graduated from the program.
Wang said that many teams are working on improving cryptocurrency topics, such as physical proof of work, user wallet experience, product-driven protocols, cryptocurrency B2B products, on-chain Data and verticalization.
"This participation program serves as a fairly representative sample of what is happening across the industry."
Participating projects focus on a range of sub-sectors and products on Web3, such as identity verification, liquidity staking, crypto wallets, and decentralized machine learning, among others. About 38% of startups are focused on the Ethereum ecosystem, compared to 21% for Polygon and 17% for Solana.
