The Uniswap governance vote just passed 40 million "Yes" votes, and Uniswap V3 is expected to be deployed on zkSync within 4-6 weeks.

Interestingly, the deployment itself will not be done by the Uniswap team . Instead, Matter Labs (the team that built zkSync) requested an additional license waiver allowing Matter Labs to use the license to deploy on zkSync.

According to the proposal, the early deployment of Uniswap will "strengthen Uniswap's position as the number one DEX and thought leader". Deploying on zkSync will help Uniswap establish a first-mover advantage.

More importantly, the governance of Uniswap DAO will stay on Ethereum L1. zkSync will use L1<>L2 communication bridges to support any messaging for governance.

Matter Labs' proposal is well timed. ZK-Rollup compatible with zkSync EVM will launch mainnet within 16 days, but the deployment of Uniswap V3 will take 4-6 weeks. This is because the team needs to have enough time for testing and marketing.
