The experiment with Web3 extends to the film industry. Imagine the difference if you let the audience decide on everything from actors to content. Mad Realities, which has received a $6m seed round of financing from Paradigm investment, has embarked on the process in its first show.
The Mad Realities community, a decentralized media platform, is made up of more than 2,000 creatives, builders, artists and romantics. As the name suggests, this is a user-led "mad Reality" TV station.
Unlike today's streaming or short-video UGC platforms, Mad Realities owns, creates, participates in and distributes content behind every show on its platform by an active community. Users must have a form of NFT Membership pass to participate in each community event.
It is the first dating reality show, Proof Love, the world's first web3 dating show and the first ever produced on the Mad Realities platform. There's no script. The community decides who gets involved and what happens.
More than 1,500 members have now co-created the show, which is funded entirely by publishing NFT and crowdfunding through community donations, without working with advertisers or video sites.
The show begins on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2022, with a decentralized cast of daters. Mad Realities shows what a show funded entirely by NFT looks like -- that it is possible for any creative person to fund, create and distribute their own work and incubate their community.
Filmed in New York, the new series is broadcast every Sunday evening on the Mad Journalistic platform and on Youtube, and can be watched live by NFT holders. Anyone can sign up for the show on the website, but only NFT holders will be able to select the final contestants. There are 5 episodes in total. In the first 4 episodes, a guest chooses his date through three rounds of games among four members of the opposite sex (same sex). The last chosen person gets to date the chosen person and returns in episode 5 to win the first prize: eggplant NFT worth 4.2 ETH; Or walk away now, reject the other's choice, and get 2,000USDT.
In addition to the usual format of one man choosing four women and one woman choosing four men, the show also considers THE LGBT community, setting a Lesbian to choose four women and a Gay to choose four men. White, black and ethnic minorities are taken into account, which makes the audience feel inclusive and the program group's intention. Episode 5 will be the finale. At the end of the season, a contest will be held to determine which guest pair wins: they are true love.
The purchase of Mad Realities membership passes is at different levels of NFT that entitle the holder to governance rights.

Mad Realities can be considered the world's first Web3 interactive television station. The team believes that interactive content languishes without an engaging community, and That Web3 appropriately motivates all parties involved (talent, audience, creatives, etc.) to create and present the most interesting content.
The creators of the first show, Proof Love, told BlockBeats that they didn't want it to be a perfect show, but more about authenticity. Forms are constantly changing, and the way to build content culture on the UGC platform of WEB3 is king. How to attract more creators to join in other ways than NFT and community consensus, and keep the balance between culture and profitability, is the sword of Damocles hanging over the team's head.
