Krause House DAO: Use DAO to buy NBA teams

What a wonderful thing it is for fans to own and love NBA teams. But is it possible?
Go, buy The NBA Team! The Krause House DAO
Author: Wang Chao, Empower Labs

I spent the winter of 2007 in Seattle on business, staying not far from the Supersonics stadium. I'm a fake fan, but since I was close enough, I went to a few games. What impressed me most was the huge crowd of fans who gathered at every game to urge the team to stay in Seattle. A new generation of NBA fans may not have heard of the sonics, and the team is only remembered by older fans as ray Allen and Durant, who finished his rookie season with the Sonics.

The sonics were sold to a wealthy businessman in the previous two years because of poor results and business difficulties. The wealthy businessman found an excuse to move the team from Seattle to his hometown of Oklahoma. All winter long, Seattle fans have been making desperate attempts to keep their beloved team.

They failed.

The power of capital is so great that the team moved out and renamed itself the Oklahoma City Thunder, and did surprisingly well, winning the Western Conference for two years. But for Sonics fans, it became a permanent pain in the heart.

But that may never happen again.

Last time I introduced footballDAO, how can there be no basketball DAO?

The Krause House is a DAO created by a group of basketball fans with The goal of buying an NBA team.

Team owners, the media, players and fans all play a key role in making professional sports grow. Fans are arguably the most indispensable party, but their voices are often the least important when it comes to changing interests.

The reason for the difference is that fans have no way to coordinate or communicate on a large scale. Advances in technology have begun to provide fans with better ways to communicate and coordinate, and fans now have more influence than ever before -- but still not enough.

That's because without ownership, fans are seen as merely noisy consumers. Web3 changes all that by consuming ownership. With web3, fans are finally able to collectively own and coordinate on a large scale. The world has changed.

Even so, buying the NBA remains a huge, distant goal. And these guys know they can't get fat all at once. In their big roadmap, there are four steps to achieving this goal

- Develop strong community and governance mechanisms

- Community collaboration to generate revenue for various projects

- Buy a small stake in an NBA team

- Buy a controlling stake in an NBA team

The first step to achieving this is to create a strong and vibrant community. But now The Krause House has already had this preliminary inkling. Their Discord has gathered nearly 2,000 people and is open to everyone.

We talk about basketball, talk about e-sports, talk about dreams, ridicule yesterday's XXX really bad, and then by the way can also learn Web3.

The future of The Krause House is full of activities, even if you are not interested in buying The team, it will be interesting enough.

- AMA with NBA insiders, professional players, college players and retired players, NBA media, agents, coaches, general managers, and insiders familiar with league transactions.

- You can play competitive games with other members. Some members organize weekly competitions and bring people to play together.

- Study Web3 at Krause House University.

- Participate in the activities of local sports communities and organizations, such as NBA Cares, ONExONE and other charity events.

- Participate in open source software, DAO tools, NFT projects and brand/media partnerships.

If you have some specific skills to contribute, so much the better. You'll most likely experience friendship, growth, happiness with your interests fulfilled, and some more immediate rewards for your contributions.

What a wonderful thing it is for fans to own and love NBA teams. But is it possible?

Of course! The question is not at all if it will happen, but how soon it will happen.
