I expect to see a similar wave of new talent entering Web3.

I posted a tongue-in-cheek one last weektweetsReceived more than 250 web2-to-Web3 job applications as a result. Our portfolio companies are reporting a similar uptick in resumes from people looking to move from Web2 to Web3. You can see it in some numbers. Coinbase has 68 million verified users.

They recently announced a new NFT product and already have 2.4 million users on a waiting list.

Despite being blocked from all Web2 app stores, including Google and Apple's Mobile Store, Axie Infinity reported 1.8 million daily active users in August and $2.6 billion in total sales since its launch.

MetaMask is the popular Ethereum wallet with more than 10 million monthly active users.

OpenSea has sold more than $9 billion of NFT GMV this year.

By comparison, YouTube has paid out a total of $30bn to all creators on its platform over the past three years.

So what's next for Web3.0?

A number of NFT-based games are expected, developed by founders with backgrounds in top game studios. Some will be rolled out next month, while others will take longer.

Expect more creators to embrace NFT in their own communities as they find they can better monetize by selling digital goods directly to fans than banner ads and other Web2 monetization methods.

Given the better interest rates and user experience, new Web3 users earning alternative coins through games and NFT may choose to keep these tokens in the DeFi protocol rather than the bank, thus increasing the number of DeFi users.

The Web3.0 infrastructure will continue to improve as non-ethereum L1 and ethereum L2 continue to improve and grow. The Ethereum merger is expected to happen in the first quarter of 2022. This will improve network performance and eliminate objections to using Ethereum due to environmental concerns.

Expect more experiments with DAOs, social tokens, decentralized social networks, Wb3.0 media, and other emerging categories. Some of them may break out like NFT and Web3 games did earlier this year.
