We are pleased to announce the launch of the Akash Developer Grant Program, a community-driven funding program to support promising developers and teams. The aim of the initiative is to expand the developer community, encourage collaboration among developers, and develop open source projects to facilitate further adoption of the Decentralized cloud of the Akash Network.
Inspired by startup programs like AWS Activate and YC, the Developer Grant Program provides funding, mentoring, support, and marketing to people, including developers:
· Grants: Developers can apply for Grants, which range from $100 to $100,000 and are paid by $AKT.
· Office hours: Guidance and best practice support in building and testing is provided during office hours by the Akash community and core development team
· Collaboration: Every funded project is open source and has its own Discord channel to communicate with the Akash community.
· Powered by Akash: Outstanding projects will be exposed on our forums and website and get more attention.
· Demo Day: Top developers will introduce their projects to investors, advisers and other developers in the Akash community via a blog and live broadcast of the Akash brand.
All software developers with Github accounts are eligible to apply for the Grant.

The Developer Grant program has a wide range of reward levels, from $100 to $100,000. The amount of money received depends on milestones reached and unlocked levels of funding.
First, the program has four reward levels to support all types of large and small projects.
· $100 startup funding: This funding is intended to support a large number of developers to run their first applications on Akash. If developers send these tokens to the exchange, they will not be eligible for future funding, as well as the next level of funding.
· $1,000 seed funding: Seed funding requires developers to create a detailed proposal for their project and share it with the community for public comments and questions. Developers open up the source code of their projects to the community, publish detailed guidelines, and answer questions from the community.
· $10,000 Incubator Fund: The incubator fund is awarded only when the developer makes progress and reaches the milestones in their proposal. Developers may be asked to present their projects in a recorded live broadcast and answer live questions from the community.
· $100,000 accelerator fund :& NBSP; Accelerator funding is awarded only to developers who consistently meet their milestones, actively improve, and show a willingness to remain open source and work with the Akash community.
All funds are paid in the form of AKT tokens to the developer's Akash account address. To prevent fraud, the account is linked to the developer's accounts on Discourse, GitHub and Discord. The award is a non-diluting donation, and Akash's finance department and the community will not receive equity in the project through the grant. Funds must be used to deploy and run applications on the Akash network.
Milestones for each project will be determined as part of the grant application. A milestone is a goal, such as developing a feature, releasing a working beta, and completing the work. A typical project should have 3-4 milestones and be completed in 2-4 months. Projects that complete their milestones will be presented to investors, advisors, and the community of developers on scheduled demo days.
We are committed to a transparent and clear process, and we want to set expectations for the types of projects being considered for funding.
Projects applying for a Developer Program grant will need to outline how their project will contribute and add value to the Akash ecosystem.
Here are some examples of projects we'd like to see submitted:
· Akash developer tools, including SDK and API
· Open source Developer Tools (Homebrew)& NBSP;
· Creator platforms (CMS, podcasts, blogs, forums, GitLab)
· Decentralized Web services (Handshake, DNS, OpenRegistry)
· Background as a Service (Hasura on Akash)
· Platform as a Service (Heroku on Akash)
· Open source communication (chat, email)& NBSP;
· Desktop deployment interface
· Hosted deployment interface with wallet integration
· App Store interface (OpenChannel on Akash)
· Persistent storage integration (Sia, Skynet, Filecoin, Storj, Arweave, Coldstack)
Proposals will be reviewed by the Community Awards Committee (CAB).
Each month, the committee will meet to review proposals submitted by developers and produce on-chain proposals for the community to vote on. Meetings will be announced publicly and hosted online via Google Meetings or Zoom. All meetings will be recorded and the minutes will be shared publicly with the community.
CAB is open to Akash customers, verifiers, suppliers, investors, advisers, employees and former employees. If you would like to nominate someone, please publicly post your nomination on the grant application in the community forum.
As a member of this committee, you need to be actively involved in reviewing developers' applications and in the decision-making and recommendation writing process. Attendance is required for early voting.
One of the main goals of the Developer Grant program is to attract talented developers from around the world. If you would like to invite a developer to join the Akash Developer Program, pleaseCreate an invitation"And share it with your social network. Each month, the community member with the most successful invitations will receive either $100 or $1,000 in Grants.
Akash will partner with other startup funds to offer free hosting on Akash. If you are a venture capital firm, accelerator, incubator, or other startup interested in providing Akash developer funding for your startup, please contact Akash and our partner team will contact you.
To rapidly scale up the project, the initial grant will be awarded by the Akash Ministry of Finance.
Right now, we're going through fiveProgramming challengesTo support developers. In the past three months, Akash Finance has awarded more than $7,000 in AKT to more than 80 developers. Seven developers areWinner of the Solana hackathon, and as part of a Sovrython hackathon,37 developers$100 AKT.
Grants in excess of $1,000 will be proposed by the CAB to utilize the community pool. CAB will work with developers to create proposals for funding projects and encourage the community to vote on them.
As of this report, the community pool is over 1 million tokens, at 1,006,408AKT. The CAB could propose that these grants be awarded directly to developers to reduce complexity -- or -- propose that the grants be awarded to multi-signature wallets administered by community members.
The process is simple. Follow the 10 steps detailed on the Akash Community forum to install Akash, create an account, propose your project, and apply.
