To beat BlockBeats, Dash Core Group, the developer of the Dash Platform, recently released the Dash v0.14 version. New features of the Dash Platform are released every six weeks, so the next version will be released between August 25th and September 8th.
As usual, the recent release means that all data on the product sandbox Evonet has been deleted. The latest updates include document timestamps, improved DAPI clients for code quality, availability, and testability, improved release packages, and platform test suites for developers.
Before the Dash platform enters this new phase of the product cycle, users can expect to see four new releases. The test network is still expected to be delivered by the end of this year.
The Dash platform is a technology stack for building decentralized applications over the Dash network, with the goal of leveraging the benefits of the Dash network while promoting frictionless value transfer. These advantages include immediate confirmation of transactions, stable project management, and scalability. For this initial release as well as upcoming releases, the core features of the Dash Platform are those of a distributed storage Platform.
Application developers create data contracts, register them with the Dash network, store application data, and gain the Dash network's understanding of the state of the data. This results in a storage platform that is review resistant, fault tolerant, and has zero downtime. Broadly speaking, the Dash Platform provides the data layer that is missing from the vision for a fully decentralized Web. It is similar in function and purpose to the Ethereum Swarm and can be used as a distributed database in conjunction with the Ethereum DAPP.
