Block pulse understands that Dash developers are ready to develop Dash version 0.14, which may avoid the "51% attack".
Decrypt was released on April 26information, 51% of attacks in the cryptographic world have been worrying. Bitcoin Gold has been attacked successfully three times. For every token community, the 51% attack is something to be avoided. The Dash developers have been trying to come up with a way around the attack.
The upcoming 0.14 update to Dash will make the cryptocurrency more reliant on its masternodes, and Dash's chief operating officer, Robert Wiecko, said the upgrade will be available in the next two weeks. The upgrade will make 51% of attacks impossible and provide almost instant transaction processing time.
The Dash, however, has a slightly different configuration, with a double knot -- the miner and the main node. Much of the work performed by miners is monitored and controlled by the master node, which can be controlled through operations such as "rejection blocks".
"Miners play different roles in the Dash ecosystem. In Dash's world, miners will secure the blockchain and provide computing power. The master node will provide additional functionality and governance services," Wiecko explained. The new version will use the primary node layer to ensure that the identified blocks cannot be changed.
Two key points of the upgrade:
1. Cancel the limit of 6 block confirmations for the instant trading function
Blockbeat learned that in the 0.14 upgrade, Dash will upgrade InstantSend. Before the upgrade, the user can send and receive Dash "immediately," but at least six block confirmations are required before the receiver can use the received Dash. It takes about 20 minutes. After the upgrade, the limitation that this must be 6 block validations is removed.
2. Defend against 51% attack threat
The reason why 51% of the attacks occur is that when a miner or a collective reorganizes the block chain and the miner or collective has more than 50% of the calculation force, the calculation force attack may occur.
The Dash, however, has a slightly different configuration. It actually belongs to the POW+POS mechanism, which has a two-layer structure -- the miner and the main node. In simple terms, the miners provide the calculations and the master node provides the monitoring and control. Much of a miner's work is monitored and controlled by the master node, which can be controlled through operations such as "rejection blocks". Thus, the threat of force attack can be greatly reduced or even eliminated by 51%.
"Miners play different roles in the Dash ecosystem. In Dash's world, miners will secure the blockchain and provide computing power. The master node will provide additional functionality and governance services," Wiecko explained. The new version will use the primary node layer to ensure that the identified blocks cannot be changed.
