BlockBeats, the Bitcoin development team has released Bitcoin Core version 0.20.0 on June 2, the 20th major update to the original Bitcoin software client launched by Satoshi Nakamoto 11 years ago.
Supervised by Chief bitcoin maintainer Wladimir Van der Laan, the latest edition was completed by over 100 contributors over about six months. After more than 500 proposed mergers, Bitcoin Core0.20.0 has mainly cleaned up and strengthened the core codex base, improved hardware wallet integration, improved network reliability, and a number of other enhancements.
Bitcoin Core has been compatible with hardware wallets since version 0.18.0. However, users cannot yet trade hardware wallets via the Graphical user interface (GUI) of Bitcoin Core; the command line interface (CLI) must be used to do so.Bitcoin Core 0.20.0 is taking a step towards integrating hardware wallets into guIs. Users can now create unsigned transactions in the Bitcoin Core GUI using partially signed Bitcoin transactions (PSBT) format and copy them to their clipboard. Once copied, they can transfer the transaction to their hardware wallet for signature - however, this transfer is not automatic, and the CLI is still required for broadcast transactions.
