Read this article in 3 Minutes
About 16 percent of bitcoin is permanently stored on the exchange, and Coinbase is estimated to have stored 856,000 bitcoins, the largest HODLer.

BlockBeats news, Unchained Capital reported that on April 1, data from Unchained Capital showed that 30.05% of the excavated BTC had been asleep for more than half a year, of which 5.36% had not moved within 18 to 24 months, 10.73% had not moved within 12 to 18 months, and 13.96% had not moved within 6 to 12 months.

Meanwhile, the HODL Wave index of bitcoin's 2- to 3-year unspent transaction output (UTXO) has plummeted below 15 percent, or 14.98 percent. That means about 15 percent of the COINS that have been mined -- 2.74 million -- have been idle for two to three years, with a total value of $19.45 billion.

In addition, about 16 percent of bitcoin is permanently stored on exchanges. CoinShares CEO Ryan radloff estimates that Coinbase is the largest "HODLer" with 856,000 bitcoins stored, while other HODLer trading platforms include coinan, Bittrex, Bitfinex, Bitstamp, firecoin, Kraken and BitMEX.
