Pocket Network's response: No App is restricted at the protocol level. In the future, developers can have their own data access channels
According to BlockBeats, on August 13, Pocket Network officials responded to BlockBeats that the ban on Tornado Cash means that it cannot be accessed through the endpoint provided by Portal. Portal is operated by entities that are required to comply with U.S. law, but the protocol does not restrict any apps.
In addition, after the V1 version upgrade, dApp developers will no longer have to go through the centralized Pocket Portal to obtain data access quota. DApp developers can pledge on the agreement by themselves and have their own data access channel. The agreement will be more censor-resistant and permissionless.
As previously reported by BlockBeats, Pocket Network, a Web 3 developer platform, wrote today that Tornado Cash has been placed on the U.S. Treasury Department's OFAC sanctions list, Pocket Portal will block interactions with multiple addresses associated with Tornado Cash.
