BlockBeats news, October 5th, according to the Wall Street Journal, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has proposed its first formal crypto market rules, abandoning the "enforcement-only" regulatory approach through new CTX and CAM regulations.
CFTC Chairman Mike Selig stated: "Unlike the Clarity Act, these regulations do not require crypto assets to be traded on CFTC-registered platforms. We do not have the authority to impose such a requirement without congressional authorization. However, these rules provide a suitable option for crypto asset trading platforms that wish to follow a single federal regulatory framework."
