BlockBeats news, November 8: Linda Xie, co-founder of Scalar Capital and former Coinbase product lead, posted a review of her personal angel investments over the past 10 years, stating she has invested in 50 companies, of which 60% are in the crypto sector, 10% in AI, and the rest across other industries.
Currently, 6 investments have returned more than their initial capital, all from the crypto sector—5 from token warrants and 1 from equity—but none individually covers the entire portfolio's capital deployed. The highest paper ROI, far exceeding other projects, is an AI company; if monetized, its return could theoretically cover the entire portfolio's capital deployed.
Another 12 companies have officially shut down or exited via acquihire, with 7 investments returning zero, 4 recovering 80% to 90% of initial capital, and 1 pending. The above statistics cover only her personal equity investments, excluding her fund and directly held crypto assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.
