Beating AI News Flash: Cursor launches Live Apps, where users can now simply describe their requirements and the cloud Agent will directly build a runnable web application. It creates a Postgres database on demand, configures authentication based on Cursor SSO, and prepares the hosting environment. Once the app is complete, users can preview it, choose a domain, pass security checks, and confirm publication, ultimately obtaining a shareable online link.
The official use cases listed by Cursor include event registration, desk assignments, sales data dashboards, new employee training, and engineering service portals. Teams can share apps with designated members or the entire organization, and visitors log in through their Cursor accounts.
Before publication, the system also checks the code for security issues such as API keys and exposed credentials. Team administrators can view all apps, set security rules, and take down published apps at any time.
Lovable itself also supports generating complete applications with databases, user registration, and hosting through natural language. Cursor has integrated this capability into its existing coding Agent, and in addition to building from scratch, it can also directly deploy existing code repositories on Cursor Origin and GitHub. For teams already developing projects in Cursor, they can now complete development and deployment within the same toolset.
Currently, Live Apps only supports Cloud Agents; local Agents are not yet supported.
