BlockBeats news, November 6 — Amid sharp volatility in U.S. stocks following the midterm elections, U.S. President Trump posted two contrasting messages on Truth Social in succession.
At noon local time on November 4, he said the stock market had hit another all-time high, with 91 trading days setting records in a short period, and wrote, "Your 401(k) is through the roof, all records."
About a day later, on the evening of November 5, on a day when the Dow fell about 3.44%, the S&P 500 fell about 4.36%, and the Nasdaq fell about 5.52%, he posted again that "the stock market experienced one of the worst trading days in history because of the election results" and "your 401(k) shrank because of it," and stressed, "Not Republicans, it's the stupid Democrats (Dumocrats)," while also saying not to panic and that it would "somehow become stronger than ever before." In another post that same evening, he said, "The stock market crashed today because the Democrats won big on Tuesday... you have only yourselves to blame."
