BlockBeats news, November 6 — Optical module manufacturer Applied Optoelectronics (AAOI) reported its third-quarter financial results, with revenue up approximately 128% year-over-year to $270 million, and net profit turning to a gain of $6.3 million from a loss of $17.94 million in the same period last year.
However, the company's fourth-quarter revenue guidance is $385 million to $420 million, with the upper end of the range still below the market expectation of $427 million. In addition, due to power access and construction progress, the company expects that the expansion in the United States in 2027 will take longer than previously expected.
After the earnings release, the AAOI contract on Hyperliquid once fell from $46.88 to $39.36, a drop of about 16%. The price then rebounded quickly, recovering to $46.30 by midday and recouping most of the decline after the earnings release; it is still down about 22.1% in the past 24 hours.
Open contract positions increased during the decline. Open interest rose from about 42,000 to 52,300 contracts, an increase of about 24.4%; turnover in the past 24 hours was about $13.45 million.
