North Korea denies involvement in Binance hack, calls US allegations 'absurd remarks'

BlockBeats news, November 3 - According to the Korean Central News Agency, North Korea stated that the US attributing the theft of the world's largest cryptocurrency trading platform Binance to North Korea is "absurd rhetoric," and it is not the first time such claims have appeared. The FBI's attempt to label North Korea as a "cybercrime state" by alleging that a hacker group "supported" by North Korea was involved in the incident is a serious political provocation that misleads international public opinion and another severe infringement on North Korea's sovereignty.

North Korea pointed out that the FBI had previously determined that the North Korea-linked hacker group TraderTraitor was responsible for the theft of over $6 billion in assets from Binance. The current US administration had announced it would confiscate illegally stolen crypto assets and use them as a national strategic reserve, stating that if one carefully examines who will ultimately receive the so-called stolen cryptocurrencies after recovery, one might find clues as to who is behind the hacking incident.
