Apple: Noticed that a small number of iPhone Duo devices have an inner screen malfunction, recommends arranging a replacement.

BlockBeats news, October 27, according to BIT (Bit.com) market data, Apple's US stock is currently down 1.02%, with a market capitalization temporarily reported at $5.02 trillion. Apple issued a statement saying it has noticed that a small number of iPhone Duo devices have inner screen failures and recommends users contact AppleCare for a replacement.

Since Apple's first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, launched in major markets on October 23, screen damage near the hinge has gradually emerged. Photos uploaded by users show that on some devices, white ray-like cracks appear from the center of the hinge and extend to the lower right of the screen.

Industry insiders believe that the defects are concentrated in the same position on the hinge and may be related to the hinge design, and Apple may have to redesign the relevant structure. Reports say Apple faced hinge supply problems during the R&D stage. The original first supplier, US-based Amphenol, was replaced by Taiwan's Shin Zu Shing due to production yields falling short of expectations, but the latter also faced production difficulties and had previously supplied through screening "golden samples" that met standards.

Apple previously said that the iPhone Duo's hinge contains more than 100 components and uses a 3D-printed hinge module. Because the product has already entered mass production, Apple may need to resolve the defects by reducing hinge components and other methods while minimizing design changes.

The report points out that the hinge problem may affect product delivery and sales performance. Apple is said to have provided suppliers with expectations showing that, as of the end of this year, the supply of components corresponding to complete-device production capacity for the iPhone Duo is about 6 million units. Separately, component supplier Fine M-Tec has stated that recent quality issues with related products are unrelated to the assembly of the components it supplies.
