Meta Muse hits 10 million users in six weeks, with AI shopping average order value exceeding $200

Beating AI News Flash: Meta disclosed in its Q3 earnings report that its personal AI Agent Muse, about 6 weeks after launch, has attracted over 10 million account sign-ups in the US and Canada, with about 25% of registered users using it daily.

Shopping has become the most popular use case, with more than a quarter of weekly active users shopping via Muse, with an average order value exceeding $200, including travel spending. In the first week after launch, transaction volume even exceeded expectations, forcing Meta to contact Stripe to raise payment limits.

Zuckerberg believes that in the future, Muse's annual revenue per user is expected to surpass the combined level of Meta's Facebook, Instagram and other apps. Currently, these apps contribute hundreds of dollars in revenue per US user per year.

Meta plans to let most people use Muse for free, charge merchants transaction commissions, and generate revenue through premium models, additional Tokens, and enterprise subscriptions.

But AI bills have already overwhelmed cash flow. Meta's Q3 revenue was $64.6 billion, up 26% year-over-year, but capital expenditures reached $34.9 billion, turning free cash flow from positive $10.6 billion in the same period last year to negative $2.1 billion. Full-year capital expenditures are expected to reach $135 billion to $145 billion.

Zuckerberg acknowledged that Muse currently consumes massive computing power and has not yet achieved profitability. He expects to improve its computing efficiency by more than 10x over the next year while accelerating commercialization. Meta also decided to establish non-voting Class C shares to preserve room for future financing.
