BlockBeats news, October 22: SSV Labs recently submitted the DIP-59 proposal, requesting an extension of network management authorization until June 30, 2027, along with significant adjustments to the budget and scope of work. The proposal marks a shift for SSV from an expansion strategy to a "maintenance-first" approach amid market and funding pressures.
On the technical roadmap, the focus in the second half of 2026 will be on completing the Boole network fork and supporting the Ethereum ePBS upgrade; the first half of 2027 will enter a pure maintenance phase, with no new product development.
On the financial side, SSV Labs has reduced its funding request, applying for $1.5 million USDC in 2026 and $2.7 million SSV tokens (including an option conversion mechanism) in the first half of 2027. The proposal waives certain previously expired unpaid funds and requires $900,000 in assets as payment collateral.
