BlockBeats news, October 20: Nvidia (NVDA) announced that using 8,192 GPUs of Germany's JUPITER supercomputer, it successfully simulated a 104-qubit fault-tolerant quantum computing system and validated a technique called "magic state cultivation." Nvidia stated that this technique is expected to reduce the number of physical qubits required to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computing by about 90%, and this simulation also shortened computations that originally took weeks to days. This advancement helps researchers test and optimize quantum computer designs in advance, but there remain technical challenges before practical application.
